Rosemary Schofield Spencer
Rosemary Schofield Spencer passed away in Layton, Utah, on Sunday, January 11, 2009, at the age of 83.
She was born the fifth of six children on October 6, 1925, in Roy, Utah, to Lorenzo Amos and Ivy May Dalton Schofield.
She married Leslie E. Spencer on September 7, 1944, in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. They were married for 59 years before Leslie''s death in 2003. They became the parents of one special son, Roger, who filled their lives with joy.
Rosemary was raised in Roy, and attended Weber County schools.
She and Leslie made their home in Clearfield, where they were long-time members of the Clearfield 2nd Ward of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Rosemary loved to sing, and was often found singing in, or directing the ward choir.
Rosemary loved children, including numerous nieces, nephews, and neighbors, and was known as "aunt" or "grandma" or "Mary" to so many of them. Each of them has been welcomed in her home year after year, and has special memories of her, Leslie, and Roger.
Over the past few years, Rosemary has been a resident at Chancellor Gardens of Clearfield, where she leaves behind many caring, new friends whom she loved dearly.
Surviving is her son, Roger, of American Fork.
Rosemary was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and her five siblings, Alvin, Leah, Don, Dott, and Ellen.
Funeral services will be held Friday, January 16, 2009 at 2 p.m. at Lindquist''s Clearfield Mortuary, 1050 South State Street. Friends and family may call Friday from 12:45 to 1:45 p.m. at the mortuary.
Interment, Roy City Cemetery.
