BOUNTIFUL –

ROSEMARY WOOD WATERS

1930 - 2018

Our beloved mother, grandmother, great and great-great grandmother, passed away peacefully Tuesday, August 14, 2018.  Rosemary was born March 4, 1930 in Salt Lake City, to John Franklin and Maud Eleanor Davenport Wood where she was raised in a loving and fun-filled family alongside her 7 siblings.

Rosemary met the love of her life Rollen LaMond Waters through his younger sister. They fell in love on the first date and she and LaMond were married in Salt Lake City on April 24, 1947 in a joint wedding with the sister and her lifelong husband.  The four remained best friends throughout their lives.  Rosemary and LaMond’s union was later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple.

A sincere love of people and a deep belief in the power of giving service were the constants throughout all aspects of Rosemary’s life.  She was committed to providing quality health care services and honed her remarkable talents in this field over the course of a six-decade long career that culminated in managing a long term genetic research study at the University of Utah.

Although she was known and adored by people outside her family as “Rosemary”, she responded to her much loved family members as Mom, Grandma, Aunt Rosie, and to her most precious great grandchildren, as their sweet Grandma Rosie.  Grandma Rosie had four children, 23 grandchildren, 58+ great grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren.  The quality of these children and their life decisions are a result of the love, values and great example of living passed down by her and Grandpa LaMond.

She faithfully lived her life to serve and support others, to love unconditionally and to bring joy to all who knew her; in return, she received the endless love and adoration of her dearest family and friends, which truly was her greatest source of joy.  Her happiest times were spent with family enjoying life and the world around her - traveling, camping, boating and playing friendly, and sometimes heated, card and board games around her kitchen table.

Rosemary is preceded in death by her loving eternal companion LaMond, her parents, siblings and extended family members.  Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 18, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. with a viewing prior from 12:30 - 1:30 p.m. at the Bountiful 24th Ward Chapel, 720 E. 550 N. Bountiful, UT.  There will also be a viewing Friday evening at Lindquist’s Bountiful Mortuary, 727 N. 400 E. from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m.  Interment Bountiful City Cemetery.
