Ross Allen Reich

Our precious son, brother, cousin, nephew, and friend to all that knew him passed away September 11, 2017.

Ross was born April 8th, 1989 in Louisiana to the adoring parents Steve and Diana.  In just 20 months he became the oldest son when his brother Aaron was born.

Ross grew up in Layton Utah where he attended Northridge High School and graduated in 2007. He attended the University of Utah and Weber State University pursuing a degree in the computer programming field.

All that knew Ross knew his adoration for sports.  Growing up Ross played hockey and lacrosse. He was known for his speed, his lacrosse coach used to say, “if only Ross could hold on to that ball.” His speed would take him up the field before the other team would even know where the ball was.  As he grew older he turned that love for sports into a love for working out evident to all that could see Ross.  He never missed a day at the gym; it was his outlet after high school and brought him many close friends.

Ross had a connection with music. He loved attending concerts and letting the music take over. He always used to say he found such peace listening to song lyrics that explained the world in a way he could not. Music was his way of relating to everyone or allowing them to relate to him, no matter their differences.

Ross had a love for computers and had dreams to one day turn that passion into his own company. He was always willing to help fix any computer problem, and he could do just that. He could build a computer in no time at all and did it all with a smile on his face and the excitement of a child that just found out their passion for the very first time. That love never went away.

Through his journey, Ross’ life took him to many different states, Colorado, North Carolina, Utah, Texas, but it did not matter where Ross was, he was always looking to succeed. His life had many twists and turns and one struggle after another, but he never stopped trying. Each new adventure for Ross was a new story he could write. Ross was known by all who knew him for: courage, adventure, and following your passion with reckless abandonment no matter what life threw at you.

Goodbyes can be said to Ross Sunday, September 17, 2017 from 6 to 8 pm. at Lindquist’s Layton Mortuary, 1867 No. Fairfield Road.  It would be Ross ‘wish that a donation be made to the drug addiction/rehabilitation/recovery center of your choosing. Let’s continue fighting.
