Roy Wilford Burch

Roy Wilford Burch, 82, passed away Tuesday, January 8, 2008 in Casa Grande, Arizona.

He was born April 20, 1925 in Ogden, Utah to Wilford William and Blanche Shaffer Burch. He was raised in Ogden and graduated from Weber High School.

On August 29, 1947, Roy married Violet Smith in Bannock County, Idaho. They lived their lives in Ogden, working and raising their family.

Roy''s career was spent as a vehicle and truck mechanic, ultimately becoming a master mechanic at Gibbons and Reed Construction Company in Ogden, Utah.

Roy and Vi traveled extensively throughout Canada, Alaska, the US and Mexico. For the past ten years they have lived summers on the Star Valley Ranch and winters at their home in Florence, AZ.

His favorite past-time was restoring his ''41 Ford Convertible. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing and the relaxation of retirement.

Roy is survived by his wife, Vi; a daughter, Lynda (Alan) Poorte, Layton; and a brother, Dean (Elaine) Burch, West Weber.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a son, Kelly and one brother and one sister.

Graveside services will be held Tuesday, January 15th at 1 p.m. at the Ogden City Cemetery, 1875 Monroe Blvd.

Friends and family may call Tuesday from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Lindquist''s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd.
