Roy Wilson Jackson

Roy Wilson Jackson (75) of Layton died June 30, 2015 peacefully at Chancellor Gardens surrounded by his loving family.  He was born January 2, 1940 in Washington D. C. the son of Woodrow Wilson Jackson and Ila Grey Dixon.  He married Allis Thomassen on January 12, 1962 in Anchorage, Alaska.  They were later sealed in the Logan Temple. Their children are Kemy (Ron) Stoker of North Ogden, Kevin (Tracie) Jackson of Roy, and Karen (Alan) Cox of Rocklin, CA.  Allis passed away October 9, 1988.

Roy then married Connie Pedersen on July 8, 1989 in the Jordan River Temple.  Her children are Kim (Bryan) Fong of Salt Lake City, Utah, Clark (Lynor) Pedersen of Mesa, AZ., and Curtis (Elayna) Pedersen of Logan.  Roy is the proud grandfather of 23 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, and 3 great-great grandchildren.

Roy enlisted in the United States Air Force in 1959 and served for 20 years.  He then worked as a civilian at Hill Air Force Base until March of 2000.

He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.  He resided in the Layton Stake 17 ^th ward where he served in various callings.  He enjoyed opportunities to provide service to others and especially loved being a home teacher.

Roy was very keen on doing little projects around the house and yard.  He enjoyed gardening, camping and traveling.  One of the real joys in life was the long term relationships with his neighbors and friends.  His life was very blessed by the love, support, and assistance from many of these loving people.

Funeral services will be held Monday, July 6, 2015 at 2 p.m. at the Layton 17 ^th Ward, 1290 Church Street, Layton with Bishop Travis Slade officiating.  Friends may visit family Sunday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist’s Layton Mortuary, 1867 No. Fairfield Road and Monday from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. at the church.
