Roy Eugene Williamson

Roy Williamson, 94, passed away Saturday, July 1 2017 in Layton, Utah.  He was born March 25, 1923 to Christian John and Ruby E. Fillmore Williamson in Pleasant Grove, Utah. Roy married Vaudis Landers April 11, 1947 in Midvale, Utah.   He was a loving Father, Grandfather and Great-Grandfather.  Survived by his children Bill (Coe Len) Williamson, Sandra (Del) Ebarb, Kent (Camille) Williamson and "adopted" son from Denmark, Johnny Sotrup, six grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, and three great-great grandchildren.   Also surviving is his brother, Norman C Williamson.  He was preceded in death by his wife, Vaudis, five sisters, three brothers, and two great grandsons.

He served in the US Navy in WWII and after had a career at Hill AFB, UT where he began his employment as an apprentice machinist and retired 33 years later as Deputy Chief Aircraft Systems Management Division.

Roy became a Master Mason in 1979 and is currently a member of Lodge 33 in St. George, Utah.  He was also the Past Worthy Patron of Beth Arabah Chapter Order of Eastern Star and Past Worthy Patron of Silver Reef Chapter 26 Order of Eastern Star.  In Addition he was a member of the Scottish Rite and the Shriners.

Roy and Vaudis loved to travel and were able to travel all around the United States, Europe and Scandinavia.  On their travels they made many lasting friends and memories.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, July 10, 2017 at Lindquist’s Layton Mortuary, 1867 N. Fairfield Rd., Layton.  The family will meet with friends Sunday, July 9, 2017 from 6 to 8 pm and Monday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the mortuary.  Internment at Lindquist's

Memorial Gardens of the Wasatch, 1718 Combe Road. South Ogden.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Shriner's Hospital for Children, Fairfax Road and Virginia Street, Salt Lake City, UT or on line at shrinershospitalsforchildren.org.
