OGDEN a€" Ruben Villalobos, 91, passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 19, 2009 at his home with his family surrounding him.

Ruben was born April 11, 1918 in Hayden, Arizona, a son of Maclovio and Filiberta Hernandez Villalobos.

He married Mary Ruth Hernandez and together they shared four children. She died August 6, 2004.

Ruben retired from the Southern Pacific Railroad after 35 years of service. He also owned and operated various restaurants on 25th street from 1939 to 1968. He was recognized as one of the premier cooks of Mexican/American cuisine.

Ruben spent his life helping others. He would feed servicemen ready to leave to WWII, and offer work and shelter to those in need.

He leaves behind two sons, Nicholas Villalobos and Ruben (Stella) Villalobos, his daughter, Sylvia (Matt) Villalobos, seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Ruben was preceded in death by his wife, his son Ronnie Villalobos, and his grandson Ruben Villalobos, Jr.

Funeral Mass will be held Wednesday at 10 a.m. at St. Joseph''s Catholic Church, 514 a€" 24th Street.

Friends may call at Lindquist''s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd., on Tuesday from 6 to 7 p.m. where Holy Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m.

Interment, Lindquist''s Memorial Gardens of the Wasatch, 1718 Combe Road.

He will be deeply missed.
