Ruby Maxine North Clauson
SYRACUSE a" Ruby Maxine North Clauson, 87, passed away Thursday, September 20, 2007 of causes incident to age. She was born on July 22, 1920 the first of 11 children born to Joseph H. and Hazel Almina Pulsipher North in Brigham City, Box Elder County, Utah.
She was raised in Brigham City, graduating from Box Elder High School. She had many aunts, uncles, and cousins in the area, which she spent a lot of time with. Being the oldest, she helped with raising her younger brothers and sisters.
She married Melville LeRoy Clauson, on December 31, 1938 in Ogden, Weber County, Utah. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple in 1970. They lived many years in Ogden, Utah where all their children were raised. They purchased their 28 acre farm in Syracuse, Utah in 1959, where she lived until her death.
She was an active member of the LDS Church, and enjoyed her many callings, especially working with young boys in Scouting. She enjoyed Relief Society, and the many visits in later years from her Ward family.
She was an active member of the Daughters of Utah Pioneers and enjoyed telling about her heritage. She loved quilting, gardening and traveling with the Union Pacific Railroad Association. She loved being a Grandma.
Surviving are her son Robert L. (Diane) Clauson, daughter Wilma C. (Tom) Keyes, 10 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, brother Rex O. (Virginia) North, sisters Helen Behnke, Wanda Bodily and Joan Bagshaw. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Melville L. Clauson, two sons M. Leonard Clauson, Ronald J. Clauson, granddaughter Lauri Keyes Coffey, great-granddaughter Mechelle Clauson, four brothers Joe, Bob, Don and Cliff North, two sisters Marge Trease and Nadine Packer.
Funeral services will be held Monday, September 24, 2007 at 11 a.m. at Syracuse Stake Center, 1350 So. 1800 W. Friends and family may call Sunday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist''s Layton Mortuary, 1867 No. Fairfield Road and Monday from 9:30 to 10:30 at the church.
Interment, Syracuse City Cemetery.
