WASHINGTON TERRACE a€" Ruby Taylor Ottesen, our "Gammy", passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 5, 2010 at Legacy House. She was 93.

Ruby was born September 30, 1916, to Walter Cleon and Louise Hanks Taylor in Salem, Utah (sometimes called Pond Town). She was the second of seven children.

She married Elden Andrew Ottesen "Shorty", on June 24, 1936 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He passed away May 4, 1982.

Ruby was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, Washington Terrace 13th Ward. She served in many callings including the Sunday school, Primary, Temple worker and as a Visiting teacher.

She worked at the Navy Base, Whites Community Bakery and for the Ogden City School lunch program. She was an excellent cook; her specialties being hot rolls and pies. She was a member of the Railroad auxiliaries UTU of Ogden, where she performed with the Fancy Drill Team.

She is survived by her daughter, Elda Mae Leishman and son, Eugene (Karen) Ottesen; six grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter.

Also surviving are her sister, Mary Beagley, Spanish Fork; and brothers, Rex (Renae) Taylor, Spanish Fork; and Lester (Annette) Taylor, St. George.

She was preceded in death by her husband, brothers, Lloyd and Cliff, her sister, Louise, granddaughter, Shauna, and son-in-law, Clark.

The family would like to thank Alpine Hospice and especially the "Gals" of Legacy House for the wonderful care they gave "Rubes".

Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Lindquist''s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd.

Family will visit with friends at the mortuary on Wednesday from 12:30 to 1:45 p.m.

Interment, Lindquist''s Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd.
