Ruby Stephens Robinson was welcomed home by her Heavenly Father on Friday, November 26, 2010, after a lifetime of selfless, dedicated service to her family and others. No woman had a greater capacity to love and help her fellow man. Her compassion was unequaled. Her mortal presence will be greatly missed.
Ruby was born at home in Riverdale, Utah to Verna May Child and Jesse Monroe Stephens on May 12, 1927. She attended elementary schools in Riverdale and Tremonton and attended Bear River and Weber High Schools and was in the nursing program during World War II. She earned her Bachelor''s Degree from Weber State College in 1993 at the age of 66.
Ruby married Howard Archie Robinson on March 24, 1947 in Elko, Nevada. They were sealed a year later in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. At Ruby''s urging, they had nine children together. A devoted wife, Ruby helped Howard build a successful refuse business and build two homes. But it was her over whelming love for her children that made her life complete.
A devoted member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Ruby dedicated countless hours serving in the Blazer B Scouts, Mutual, Primary, Relief Society, Ward library, visiting teaching and fulfilled a mission working in the Ogden LDS temple. Her love of the gospel and insurmountable faith was an inspiration to all who knew her. She opened her home to Navajo students and others in need. Her service and compassion enriched all who came in contact with her. Ruby also served her community as PTA President and Utah delegate for the Republican Party. Her many hobbies included gardening, crocheting, sewing, and she never missed an opportunity to snap a photograph. She also looked forward to spending time with her many friends.
Ruby is survived by four sons and four daughters, Randy Robinson and Leanne Ingles of Clinton; Lori (Rod) Clark, Linda Webb, all of West Point; Steven (Karen) Robinson of Riverdale; Loni Johnson of Huntsville; David (Gloria) Robinson of North Ogden; and Nathan (Tonya) Robinson of West Haven. She is also survived by a sister, Beth Woodbury of Roy; a brother, Don Stephens of Leeds; 26 grandchildren and 31 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Howard, her son, Paul, her parents, two brothers, Garth and Robert Stephens, a sister, Evelyn Stephens, a grandson, Andrew Robinson and a great-grandson, Haden Chilson.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, December 1st at 11 a.m. at the Clinton 15th Ward Chapel, 2841 West 1300 North.
The family will meet friends on Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist''s Roy Mortuary, 3333 West 5600 South and Wednesday from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. at the church.
She will be laid to rest next to her husband and son at the Clinton Cemetery.
