Ruby Eileene Goodfellow Roper

Ruby Eileene Goodfellow Roper passed away March 6, 2015 at her home in Riverdale, Utah. She Was 91 years old. She was born in Salt Lake City, Utah on January 5, 1924 to John William Goodfellow and Lillie May Roberts.
She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Ruby was raised in Salt Lake City and graduated from East High School. She went to work at the arms plant during World War II, inspecting bullets where she met her life’s companion Boyd W. Roper.
Ruby and Boyd were married January 18, 1944 and moved to Ogden, Utah in 1946. They raised three children, Judy, Randall, and Kim. They spent 64 years together until Boyd passed away on June 27, 2008.
She is survived by one daughter, Judy (Darrell) Buxton; and two sons, Randall Boyd (Marilyn) Roper, and Gregory Kim Roper; seven grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren. She was preceded by her parents, husband, six brothers, Melvin (Violet), Elmer (Marion), Parley (Eva), Clyde (Dorothy), Lynn (Dorothy), Donald (Carol); and two sisters, Thelma (George) Bolender, and Mildred (Marion) Graham.
The family would like to express sincere gratitude to all who showed such compassion and who cared for her at the Pine View Rehab Center and Hospice of Utah
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, March 12, 2015 at 2 p.m. at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd. Friends may visit with the family on Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Thursday from 12:45 to 1:45 p.m. at the mortuary
Interment, Lindquist’s Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd.
