SUNSET a€" Rudolph (Rudy) Stecklein went home to be with our Lord after a long illness on Thursday, June 7, 2007. He was 81 years old. He was born October 8, 1925 in Collyer, Kansas, the son of Antone J. and Clemetina K. Stecklein. He married Lola Denton July 2, 1949 in Twin Falls, Idaho

Rudy lived in Kansas as a young boy moving to Twin Falls, Idaho at the age of nine. He lived in Utah for the past 55 years where he worked at Hill Air Force Base as an electroplater and retired from the base after 32 years. He was a veteran of WWII, serving in the U.S. Navy aboard the USS Biloxi. He was a member of the Clearfield Community Church and held many positions in the church. He was active in the Boy Scouts of America for many years. He was also an active member of the AFGE Union at Hill Air Force Base. Rudy loved fishing, the outdoors and bowling. Most of all he loved being with his family and they loved spending time with him.

He is survived by his wife Lola, his children Linda (Dave) DeGroot of Clearfield, Utah, Deborah (Jim) Maryott of Decatur, Nebraska, and Brian (Melinda) Stecklein of Roy, Utah, six grandchildren: Jill Maryott, Jaclyn Swaner, Christopher DeGroot, Jessica Olsen, Benjamin Stecklein, and Nicholas Stecklein; seven great-grandchildren; one brother Fred Stecklein of Twin Falls, Idaho, one sister Josephine Ellis of Meridian, Idaho and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and ten brothers and sisters.

A memorial service with military honors will be held at Clearfield Community Church, 200 South 500 East, Clearfield, Utah at 2 p.m., Tuesday, June 19, 2007. Reverend Richard Axmann will officiate at the celebration of Rudy''s life.
