Ruel Lee Barker
HARRISVILLE – Our beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, great-great-grandfather and brother, Ruel L. Barker, passed away at age 81 on Friday, March 12, 2010 at his home surrounded by his loving family.
He was born November 17, 1928 to Charles Newman and Elizabeth Lee Barker, the 12th of 15 children.
Ruel married Katherine L. Harvey in Elko, Nevada.
He had respect for everything on the face of this earth. He was always there for us to lean on. His family meant more to him than life itself.
Ruel was a veteran of the Korean Conflict.
He retired from Ideal Cement Company in Devils Slide, Utah.
Surviving are his wife of 56 years, Katherine; three children, Vicky (Steve) Pentz, James (Jenny) Barker, Wanda (Rick) Wright; 18 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Also surviving are two sisters, Larraine (Paul) Arnonen and Arlene Likens.
He was preceded in death by his parents, son, Charles Lee Barker, granddaughter, Soozi Pentz, four sisters and eight brothers.
He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
Graveside services will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. at the Ben Lomond Cemetery.
Friends and family may call at Lindquist’s North Ogden Mortuary, 2140 North Washington Blvd., on Tuesday from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m.
