Rula Olsen

Fruit Heights – Rula Wright Olsen, 88, passed away Monday, January 7, 2019 where she returned to her Heavenly Father and her beloved husband Claine. She was surrounded by her loving family at the time of her passing.

Rula was born February 7, 1930 in Hyrum, Utah, the daughter of Rulon and Eleanor Wright.  Rula was raised in Hyrum, graduated from So. Cache High School and earned an Associate’s Degree from Utah State University.

Rula married Claine Wyatt Olsen on May 9, 1950 in the Logan, Utah temple.  Claine preceded Rula in death on November 11, 2001.

Both were active members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Rula loved reading especially church books and enjoyed anytime with family.  Her favorite activities involved anything to do with family whether it was camping or taking the boat to the lake with dad. She also enjoyed visiting with her many friends from church.  There always seemed to be visitors at her home.

Surviving are her children, Alan (Julie), Brian (Alison), Laurie (Randy) Stein, Stanley (Sheryl), Nolan (Jeryl Ann), her sister Ione (Alden), brother Grant Wright.  She loved and enjoyed her 25 grandchildren and 46 great-grandchildren equally.

Preceded in death by her parents, husband and baby sister, Mary Lou Wright.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 12, 2019 at 11 a.m. at the Fruit Heights 5th Ward, 24 S. Country Lane.  Friends may visit family Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist’s Layton Mortuary, 1867 No. Fairfield Road and Saturday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the church.

Interment, Hyrum Cemetery, Hyrum, Utah.
