Rulon Barnes Weaver
LAYTON - Rulon Barnes Weaver, 88, passed away peacefully at his home on January 2, 2018.
He was born in Layton, Utah to Joseph Lloyd Weaver and Marie Ruby Barnes Weaver. He married June Purcell shortly after graduating high school and together they had a son, Randy B. Weaver, and a daughter Kristeen Weaver Nalder. While he and June later divorced, they remained friends until the time of his death.
He married Sally Lynn Stevenson on October 10, 1980, with whom he spent the remainder of his life.
Rulon was a prominent resident of Layton, having devoted years to managing and working the LDS church farm, owning his own farming and ranching business, and participating in the sport of horse cutting.
Rulon and Sally loved their family and will be remembered for the generosity they showed toward them, never forgetting a birthday or special occasion.
Rulon is survived by his loving wife, Sally Lynn Weaver; children Randy B. Weaver (Carolyn), Kristeen Weaver Nalder (Robin); step-children, John Stevenson Wood (Jan), Paul Raymond Wood (Patti); grandchildren, Justin Travelle Nalder (Cammi), Nicholas Travelle Nalder (Heather), Lauren Marie Wood, Jesse Dee Wood, Nathan Brent Wood, Shaelynn Wood; and great-granddaughters, Caitlyn, Cierra, Lydia and Savannah Nalder; Sister-in-law, Thella Weaver, her three children and their families.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Alan B. Weaver, and an infant son.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, January 9, 2017 at 11 a.m. at Lindquist’s Layton Mortuary, 1867 N. Fairfield Rd. Friends may visit with family Tuesday 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the mortuary.
Interment, Kaysville City Cemetery.
