RUSSELL ARTHUR ADAMS 1925-2013

Our fun-loving, always happy dad was taken from us far sooner than expected on March 29, 2013, after a hard fought battle with secondary complications from a recent surgery.

He was born, July 16, 1925 in Logan Utah to proud parents, Arthur Walter and Mary Elizabeth Ericksen Adams. The family lived in Grace, Idaho before moving to Salt Lake City. He was a 1942 graduate of East High. One of the highlights in his life was proudly serving in the US Navy Seabees, 140th Naval Construction Battalion. He attained the grade of Gunner''s Mate, Petty Officer Third Class and was stationed in the Southwest Pacific, in the Admiralty Islands of the Bismarck Archipelago. He received an honorable discharge in April, 1946.

Upon his return from the war in 1946, he married June "Markey" Kammerman. They had a daughter, Linda Jean, but were divorced in 1953. He then married Carol Pebley in Las Vegas on August 22, 1954 and was happy to adopt her son Dennis Craige. They were later sealed in the Salt Lake Temple. He studied Civil Engineering and Electrical Construction at the University of Utah (go Utes). His career began with Utah Power & Light and after several years, he accepted a position as Project Engineer with Howard P. Foley Co. This position enabled him to live in several different cities which he loved. Most memorable was when he worked in Oahu-Hawaii. He loved the beaches and the ocean and the opportunity to swim and enjoy the warm climate.

Russ was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and was happy to serve in the Bountiful Temple. He was a member of Toastmasters, International Brotherhood of Electrical Work and the Civil Air Patrol.

He loved life and made the most out of each day. He was an avid golfer and had a special bond with his golf buddies, which often included family members. He was generous with Mulligans and quick to offer praise for a good swing or long putt. He was also an avid swimmer and loved swimming and golfing with his grand and great grandchildren. He looked forward to eating Mexican food to celebrate a good game. He was a true Ute and proud of it. He especially loved a friendly banter with friends or family who were "true blue".

His family was important and he always made certain that each of us knew how important we were to him. Left behind to grieve is his son Dennis Craige Adams (Wendy); his daughter Linda Jean Adams (Dan Holstad); brothers Gary E. Adams, Richard Grant Adams (Karen);grandchildren, Jeremy Adams (Kendria), Chad Adams (Barbi), Michelle Adams, Jennifer Curtis (Cole), Scott Adams (Stephanie), Bentley Adams (Missy Thompson) and Quincy Adams (Amilyn Call). He also leaves 18 great-grandchildren; He was happily welcomed home by his wife, Carol, and his brother, General Charles J. Adams.

Funeral Services will be held on Friday at 11 am, April 5, 2013 at the LDS Stake Center, 950 N. Main, Centerville with a viewing from 9:30-10:30 am. A viewing will be held Thursday, from 6:00-8:00 pm at Lindquist''s Bountiful Mortuary, 727 N. 400 E. Interment Farmington City Cemetery. Condolences may be shared at www.lindquistmortuary.com
