Russell Barker

LAYTON - Rusty passed away unexpectedly Friday, November 15, 2013, at his home in Layton. He was the first born son to Gary O. and Leslie Adams Barker. He was a loving son, brother and friend, who loved helping others. He graduated from Layton high school in 1986 and attended Weber State University. He was a mechanic, welder, painter, electrician - all around handy man and served two years in the US Coast Guard. He was married to Barbara Applonie in 1988 and they had one daughter, Alexis in July of 1989. They were later divorced.

He is preceded in death by his father, Gary Olsen Barker, his grandparents, Grace Olsen & Rex Perry Barker, and Marijane Ebey and Raymond Leslie Adams, and a nephew, Zachary Barker. He is survived by his mother, Leslie (Cookie) Barker, three brothers, Bradley Scott Barker, Christopher Gary Barker and Rex Leslie Barker, six nieces & five nephews.

An open house will be held at the family home Saturday, November 23, 2013 from 1 to 5 p.m. to celebrate his life. No flowers, please. Services entrusted to Lindquist''s Layton Mortuary.
