Russell Walter Buhler
KAYSVILLE – Russell Walter Buhler passed away at the age of 96 years.
Russell was born June 15, 1920 in Heber, Utah to Walter Buhler and WilmaWitt .
He married Beulah Bennett on March 1, 1946. Together they had six children; Dean (Kristen) Buhler, Mark (Susan) Buhler, Don (Kaye) Buhler, Arlene (Tom) Hughes, Linda (Owen) Mason, and Susan Thatcher; with 27 grandchildren, 61 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren.
Russell served his country during World War II in the United States Air Force as Lt. Col. He was on the supervisory committee for the Davis Credit Union, and served 4 years on the Board of Directors.
He attended Davis High School, graduated class of 1938. He also attended Weber State from 1940-1941.
Russell was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, serving in many callings. He served in the aaronic priesthood as the Priest Secretary. He also served as the President of the MIA of Ogden. He enjoyed doing temple work.
His hobbies included hunting, fishing, camping with his family. He also enjoyed working in his vegetable garden.
Russell is preceded in death by both of his parents, his wife Beulah, David Russell Buhler a son, Doris Henster a sister and brothers; Doyle Buhler, Glenn Buhler and Verle Buhler.
He is survived by his 6 children and his sister Norma Nelson.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 20, 2016 at 2 p.m. at the Kaysville 9th Ward, 600 E. 200 So., Kaysville. Friends may visit family Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist’s Kaysville Mortuary, 400 North Main and Saturday from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. at the church. Interment, Kaysville City Cemetery.
