Russell Theodore Clippinger

September 11, 1946 ~ December 2, 2015

Russell Theodore Clippinger, 69, passed away Wednesday, December 2, 2015, surrounded by his family. He was born September 11, 1946 in Cincinnati, Ohio to Russell D. and Ellen B. Neal Clippinger.

Russ served in the United States Air Force and the Air Force Reserves. He also worked for Utility Trailer and in the Photo Shop at the Riverdale Walmart, which he loved very much.

Russ married DeAnn Hodson, the love of his life, on August 28, 1969. They had eleven children together; Ted (Cheryl), Jeffrey (Amber), Barbara Mager, John (Pati), Karen (Jeremy) Higley, Mary, Rusty (Brittnee), Lonny (Bonnie), David (Andrea), Kristy (Matt) Robbins, and Samantha (Collyn) Smith. He had 40 grandchildren and three great-granddaughters. His kids and grandkids were the sparkle in his big, blue eyes.

He was a patriotic man who was proud of his sons for serving their Country. He loved spending time outdoors, camping and barbequing with his family. He had a great sense of humor and a laugh that would brighten your day.

We would like to thank the staff at the Stonehenge Rehab Center and the Bonneville Dialysis Center, where he made many lifelong friends. He cherished his friendship with Peter Jacobo and Peter’s loving parents.

Russ was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Barbara Claire.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, December 7, 2015 at Lindquist’s Roy Mortuary, 3333 West 5600 South. The family will meet with friends on Sunday, December 6, 2015 from 6 to 8 p.m. and Monday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the mortuary.

Interment, Clinton City Cemetery.
