Russell Claine Neilson, 64, passed away on Monday, April 16, 2012. He was born on July 28, 1947 to A. Russell and Gloria Olsen in Logan, Utah. He was raised and educated in Washington Terrace where he spent most of his life.

He served in the US Army. He married Karen Horspool on August 13, 1970. They were later divorced. Russell had a love for animals. It didn''t matter what kind of animal he loved them all.

Russell is survived by his sons, Phillip (Holly) Neilson and James Neilson; daughters, Cari (John) Horsley and Shanna (Ron) Parazoo; 7 grandchildren; parents; brothers, Todd Neilson and Barry Neilson; sisters, Sandy (Darrell) Bingham; Angela (George) Platco and Marsha (Parley) Tingey.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Phillip Kim Neilson; granddaughter, Breanna Lynn Horsley; and a niece and nephew.

A graveside service will be held on Saturday, April 21, 2012 at 11 a.m. at Lindquist''s Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd., where military honors will be accorded by the Combined Veterans Honor Guard. Friends may visit on Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist''s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd.
