Russell Howard Parkhurst, "Big Russ" from Davis County born March 9, 1943 died Friday, May 27, 2011 in Ogden due to heart failure.

Russell enjoyed the outdoors life. He was an avid hunter, enjoyed his black powder guns, archery, and camping. He spent most of these outdoor activities with family and many, many dear friends. He was an electrician by trade for many years.

Russell was an active member of the LDS Church.

He was a good man and lived his life with value.

Russ is survived by his loving wife Joan, her children, Todd Toone, Steven Toone, and Carie Toone, and by his children, Ray Parkhurst, Danny Parkhurst, Carol Clarke, Greg Parkhurst, Wendy Greenman, Rusti Ferris-Nelson, and Brooke Field.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 4, 2011 at 11 a.m. at the Hansen Meadows Ward, 3065 S. Bluff Road, Syracuse. Friends may visit family on Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist''s Layton Mortuary, 1867 No. Fairfield Road and Saturday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the church. Interment, Syracuse City Cemetery.
