Russell Joseph Wilson
Our loving father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, Russell Joseph Wilson, 94, passed away on January 30, 2013. He was born on June 20, 1918. During his childhood he grew up in Lakeside and surrounding areas eventually settling on Binford. On Binford, he met the love of his life, Margaret Child Beus. They married for time and all eternity on June 25, 1941 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. After 64 wonderful years together, Margaret passed away on November 24, 2005.
Russell served for 4 years in 70th Base headquarters and Air Base Squadron at the Las Vegas Army Gunnery School for the US Army Air Forces during World War II. After the war he continued his service with the civil service, where he was recognized for his hard work and zero defects. In 1975, he retired from Hill Air Force Base.
He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Washington Terrace 8th Ward. He loved to perform his duties as Ward Clerk for 15 years and temple worker for 20 years.
Russell is survived by his sons, David Russell (Nok Lek) Wilson, Russell Brent (Linda) Wilson, Michael Lee (Becky) Wilson, and Jonathan Larry (Susan) Wilson; 17 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren with 2 on the way; brother, Don Wilson and sister, Shirley Chadwick.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret Beus Wilson; son, Raymon Lynn Wilson; father, Joseph Smith Wilson and mother, Ruby B. Wilson.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, February 4, 2013 at 2 p.m. at Lindquist''s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd. Friends may visit with family on Sunday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Monday from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. at the mortuary.
Interment, Lindquist''s Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd.
