CLEARFIELD a€" Ruth Rowland Bailey, 90, passed away Thursday, July 16, 2009 at home, surrounded by her loving family.

She was born September 16, 1918 in Richmond, Utah to R.C. "Bill" and Matilda Rowland. She graduated from Ogden High school.

On January 19, 1952, Ruth married Edmund B. Bailey in Ogden, Utah.

She retired from the Internal Revenue Service as a government employee.

Ruth was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles and a pinochle club.

She was an avid flower gardener and loved working with her hands to make many crafts and crochet items. She loved family functions, reunions and especially time spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Ruth is survived by two children, Val (Theresa) Johnson, Bonie Bailey (Phillip) Sitterud; nine grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Bart, a son, Marvin Brent Johnson, two brothers, Bill and Fred and three sisters, Mern, Con and Louise.

Graveside services will be held Monday, July 20th at 2 p.m. at Lindquist''s Memorial Gardens of the Wasatch, 1718 Combe Road.

Friends may call Monday from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. at Lindquist''s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd.
