Ruth Meda Burt Cadwell Gale

1916 - 2015

KAYSVILLE, UT – Ruth Meda Burt Cadwell Gale, 98, passed away Sunday, March 15, 2015.

She was born October 30, 1916 in Salt Lake City, Utah the last survivor of nine children of Robert Watson and Kate Isabelle Crowther Burt.

Ruth married Edwin Alexander Cadwell in January 1938.  He preceded her in death on December 22, 1958.  She married Joseph Gale in 1967 who preceded her in death in 1987.

She was a faithful member of the LDS Church.   Ruth volunteered as a “Pink Lady” at the Davis Hospital for many years, was a member of the D.U.P., The Lady Eagles, serving as President for a time and sang with the Autumn Glow Chorus.

She was a seamstress, artist and enjoyed doing many crafts.

Surviving are her daughters, June Ruth (Paul) Hunter, JoEllen Leggett Mann, Linda D. (Bud) Brooks, 13 grandchildren, 34 great-grandchildren and 17 great-great-grandchildren.

Preceded in death by her parents, daughter Diane Cullimore, and great-grandson, Matthew McGlinchy.

Funeral services will be held Friday, March 20, 2015 at Lindquist’s Kaysville Mortuary, 400 North Main.  Friends may visit family Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Friday from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. at the mortuary.  Interment, Kaysville City Cemetery.

The family would like to thank the staff at Apple Tree Assisted Living for the compassionate care given to our mother.
