Ruth Burnett Gomm
Our dear wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, sister and friend, Ruth Burnett Gomm, passed away peacefully in her sleep at her home on September 8, 2007.
She was born in Clinton, Utah on February 16, 1917 to Joseph D. and Olive Summers Burnett. Ruth graduated from Davis High School in 1935. She married her childhood sweetheart Keith Gomm on June 4, 1937 in the Salt Lake Temple. They recently celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary.
Ruth and Keith spent their married lives in Utah and California where she worked for the Federal Government and the State of California. After retiring, they returned to Utah where they established Gomm Tax Service which became a third career that lasted 32 years and brought them many treasured friendships. Ruth was active in the LDS Church and held many positions including an ordinance worker in the Ogden Temple.
Her hobbies included quilting, crocheting, fishing, traveling and doll collecting.
Ruth is survived by her husband Keith, their children and their spouses, Gary (Lynne), San Antonio, Texas; Richard (Ann), Henderson, Nevada; and Michael (Pamela), Kaysville, Utah; 12 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great-grandchildren and her sister, Alice Adams.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers and four sisters.
Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, September 12, 2007 at 11 a.m. at Lindquist’s Layton Mortuary, 1867 No. Fairfield Road. Friends and family may call Tuesday, September 11, from 6 to 8 p.m. and Wednesday from 9:45 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. at the mortuary.
Interment, Clearfield City Cemetery.
