Ruth B. Grieve
PLAIN CITY a" Ruth B. Grieve, 95, died Sunday, September 5, 2010 at her home of natural causes.
She was born January 3, 1915 in Beaver Dam, Utah, a daughter of Gideon Leonard and Anna Wyerman Bowen.
Ruth married Peter P. Grieve on June 24, 1939. Their vows were later solemnized in the Logan LDS Temple. She lived most of her married life in Plain City.
She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where she held various callings.
Ruth retired from Weber County Schools in 1985.
She was known by one of her nephews as "Annie Oakley" for her kind and loving ways.
Surviving are two sons and two daughters, Ellen Grieve, Plain City; Frank (Paula) Grieve, Sand Coulee, MT; Paul "Pete" (Claramae) Grieve, Plain City; Ruthann (Glen) Avis, Ogden; three daughters-in-law, Sharon Petrero, Mesquite, NV; Masie Grieve, Harrisville; Quennett Grieve, Plain City; 21 grandchildren and 51 great-grandchildren.
Also surviving are one brother, Grant Bowen, Beaver Dam, UT; three sisters, Edith Forsgren and Elsie Hawks, both of Brigham City; Ann Reynolds, Phoenix, AZ; and her sister-in-law, Mae Bowen, Brigham City.
Ruth was preceded in death by her husband, Peter, three sons, David "Pete", Robert, Michael Gideon, two sisters and three brothers.
Funeral services will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at the Plain City 5th Ward Chapel, 2150 North 4630 West.
Family will meet with friends at Lindquist''s North Ogden Mortuary, 2140 North Washington Blvd., on Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Saturday at the Ward Chapel 9:45 to 10:45 a.m.
Interment, Plain City Cemetery.
