LAYTON a�" Ruth Tanner Hinckley, 77, passed away Wednesday, July 4, 2007 at McKay-Dee Hospital.

She was born December 21, 1929 in Anaconda, Montana the daughter of Joseph Alon and Verda LaRue Petersen Tanner. At age 14 her family moved to Salt Lake City.

Ruth married Marvin J. Morrison. They had three children and were later divorced. On June 2, 1998 she married her high school sweetheart Arlo Hinckley in the Timpanogos Temple and moved to Layton.

She was an active member of the LDS Church and served in many callings throughout her life including Ward and Stake Relief Society President, served a full time mission with Arlo to the Great Lakes Naval Base in Chicago and two year church service mission at the LDS Employment Center in Layton.

Ruth was known for her unconditional love and hugs.

Surviving are her husband Arlo Hinckley, Layton; children: Marvetta King, Las Vegas, NV; Sandra (Blaine) Green, Scottsdale, AZ; Joe (Becki) Morrison, Murray; step-children: Kevin A. (Cindy) Hinckley, Plano, TX; Lori (Gary) Riddle, Layton; Alan (Terri) Hinckley, West Haven; 27 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, two sisters, Darlene Bennett, Kamas; and Leora Farnsworth, Salt Lake City.

Preceeded in death by her parents and brother, Dale Tanner.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, July 10, 2007 at 11 a.m. at Lindquist''s Layton Mortuary, 1867 No. Fairfield Road. Friends and family may call Monday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Tuesday one hour prior to services at the mortuary.

Interment, Lindquist''s Memorial Park at Layton, 1867 No. Fairfield Road.
