Ruth Sessions Humpherys

“Grandma Hunee” Hannah Ruth Sessions Humpherys, 92, passed away Sunday, July 18, 2010 at Lakeview Hospital, Bountiful, Utah, following complications from a fall. Loving wife, mother, grandmother, friend. Born in Ogden, Utah December 28, 1917 to LeRoy and Tessie Cook Sessions. Married Max Wright Humpherys, May 10, 1938, in the Logan, Utah LDS Temple. Attended Weber College. Grew up with a musical background at home and developed singing talent and deep love for music; frequent participator/performer in musical circles throughout her lifetime. Homemaker extraordinaire. Member of the LDS Church and held positions in auxiliary organizations of Primary, Relief Society and Young Women (her favorite). Resided in Idaho Falls, Idaho, 28 years and in Bountiful, Utah, 35 years. Survived by daughter, Helen Humpherys, Bountiful, Utah, son, Douglas Max Humpherys, Rochester, New York, daughter-in-law, Julie Humpherys, Idaho Falls, Idaho, three grandchildren: Philip (Kimm) Humpherys; Jeffrey (Kristin) Humpherys, and Janessa (Timothy) Pales, and eight great grandchildren. Preceded in death by husband, son, David Russell Humpherys, parents, sisters, Nelda Adams, Helen Sessions, and brother, LeRoy Sessions Jr. The family wishes to thank Dr. Steven Huish and the doctors and staff at Lakeview Hospital who cared for Ruth during her last few days. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Monday, July 26, 2010 at the LDS Chapel, 2285 South 200 West, Bountiful, UT.
