Ruth J. Lyon
OGDEN – Ruth Johnson Lyon died Thursday, September 24, 2009 at her home in Ogden at the age of 88.
She was born November 13, 1920 in Logan, to Robert and Martha Johnson. Music was her hobby and she began playing before the public at an early age. She attended Logan schools and graduated from Logan High School, where she was Vice President and Harvest Queen her senior year. She attended Utah State University and was active in music programs. She was an excellent musician who studied and played for most of her life. Ruth taught both organ and piano.
Ruth was married to and preceded in death by Sterling R. Lyon. She is survived by her son Jerald (Kaye) Lyon of Ogden; her daughter Jackie (Brad) Hunter of Ogden; and her daughter of Salt Lake City; grandchildren, Michelle (Louis) Kloor, Jen (Alan) Davis, Marie Lyon, Rebecca Lyon, Tyson (Marie) Hunter, and four great-grandchildren, Zachary Lyon, Brendan Lyon, Jet Hunter and Dani Marie Hunter.
Ruth was preceded in death by her brother, Leon Johnson and her sister, Theta Johnson.
