Ruth Pledge Thornock Maisey,

Ruth Pledge Thornock, 92, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family. August 13, 2022. She was born June 24, 1930 in Ogden, Utah, the daughter of Wilford Myron Thornock and Jane Berthenia Critchlow. Ruth was the 10th out of 11 children. She loved spending time with her siblings and family. She graduated from Ogden High School. 

Ruth married her sweetheart Theo Maisey on November 25,1953, in the Logan LDS Temple. They raised their family in Washington Terrace.

Mom loved serving in Cub Scouts, Relief Society Homemaking, Primary especially the Nursery. Mom loves the babies!

Mom is survived by her children, Theo Brent Maisey, Danette Fry, Karen Maisey, Jill (Lowell) Whitley, and Daniel Guy (Danette) Maisey, 35 grandchildren, 45 great-grandchildren, 5 great-great-grandchildren, 2 sisters-in-law, Shirley Thornock and Joan Maisey. She was preceded in death by her parents, all her siblings, husband, Theo; son-in-law, Mike Fry; and grandson, Weston.

Mom loved dancing; she and dad were in a square dance club. Cake decorating, sewing, camping time at Bear Lake with the family, California beaches. Mom's motto was there is always room for one more! 

Mom cherished her club group and the time she spent with them monthly for over 65 years. Mom and dad enjoyed their trips with the Good Sam's Club, "Over The Hill Gang”, on various trips.

Our family would like to thank Bristol Hospice for their wonderful care and Sue with Visiting Angels. We would also like to express our love to her ministering teachers Bill and Fred, Joy and Robin, family, friends and ward members that have cared for them over the years.

Funeral services will be held Friday, August 19, 2022 at 11 a.m. at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd. Friends may visit with the family on Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Friday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the mortuary. Interment, Lindquist’s Memorial Gardens of the Wasatch, 1718 Combe Rd.
