Ruth Owen

Ruth Hammon Owen passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 3, 2007.

She was born June 13, 1925 in Roy, the youngest of nine children of Amasa Marion Sr. and Edith Ann Hobson Hammon. She graduated from Weber High School in 1943.

Ruth married her high school sweetheart, Charles Delbert Owen, son of Charles Heber and Mary Richardson Henderson Owen, in Ogden, Utah. Later, they were sealed in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.

She worked at HAFB as a secretary.

Ruth loved to read, sew, crochet and knit.

Surviving are three children, Brent Hammon Owen, Oceanside, CA; Kim Heber Owen, West Haven; Lon Amasa Owen, Clearfield; nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Ruth was preceded in death by her husband Charles, two children, Dee Charles and Deborah Owen, her parents, brothers and sisters, Mildred Burningham (Glen) Hill, Levi Durlin Hammon, Amasa Marion Hammon, Lamar Carver (John) Dewey, Wilma (Heino) Kap, Edith (Doyle) Lowder, Lovina (Fount) Langford and Myrla (Donald) Runquist.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Lindquist''s Roy Mortuary, 3333 West 5600 South.

Friends may call at the mortuary on Wednesday from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m.

Interment, Lindquist''s Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd.
