Ruth Bone Perkins

KAYSVILLE – Ruth Bone Perkins, a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend, completed her earthly journey and returned to her Heavenly Father on July 9, 2014.

Ruth was welcomed into this world by her parents Henry William and Weltha Venable Bone on November 19, 1921 at their family home in west Layton. She learned her good work ethics by working aside her 12 siblings and parents on the family farm.

Ruth married Harold Coombs Perkins May 25, 1940 in Salt Lake City, UT, later sealed in the Idaho Falls Temple. They spent their 74 years of marriage living in Kaysville, UT.

She was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Ruth loved her membership in the Kaysville JC’s and later in the Exhausted Roosters and Hens, and she treasured her relationship with these special lifelong friends. She enjoyed quilting and made many quilts to give to family and friends. Christmas was her favorite holiday, preparing for it year around. Ruth made the best homemade dipped chocolates that she shared with family and friends every Christmas season.

Ruth’s favorite place in the world was her paradise cabin at Bear Lake where she entertained family and friends as often as possible. She will be greatly missed by all that knew her.

She is survived by her husband Harold and their children: sons Gary (Helen) Perkins, Lynn (Gaylene) Perkins, daughter, Penny (Gene) Perry; 12 grandkids, 36 great-grandkids, and 9 great-great-grandkids.

Preceded in death by her parents, 10 siblings, one daughter, Margaret, and three grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Monday, July 14, 2014 at 11 a.m. at the Kaysville 20 th Ward Chapel, 855 E. Mutton Hollow Road, Kaysville, UT. Friends may visit with family Sunday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist’s Layton Mortuary, 1867 N. Fairfield Rd. and Monday at the church from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Interment, Kaysville City Cemetery.
