Ruth E. Kerby Staubus
Ruth E. Kerby Staubus passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 28, 2009 due to complications of COPD and Emphysema at the age of 77.
Born September 1, 1931 in Indian Grove, MO; to Nina and Jewel Kerby. She resided in Missouri until the age of 11 at which time the family moved to Utah.
Ruth graduated from Weber High School, Ogden, UT, Class of 49. Later received her RN from the St. Benedict''s nurse training program. She worked as a nurse until she married her 1st grade sweetheart James H. Staubus. Together they had four children, Jaima, Kelly, Marta and Ruthann. Ruth spent most of her adult life in Layton raising her children. She later worked as a dental assistant to Dentist Craig Kneedy who became a very close friend to her through the 15+ years they worked together. Ruth was an active member of the Jehovah''s Witnesses, Layton Congregation, where she enjoyed friendships with the brothers and sisters.
Ruth had the "gift of gab" and loved to visit with people especially her grandkids. She enjoyed reading, doing puzzles and listening to country music.
Survived by her four children, Jaima Hansen (Kenyon), Kelly Staubus, Marta Wingler (Randy) and Ruthann Rackham (Chuck), 11 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren, her brother Bill and sister Virginia. Preceded in death by her parents Jewel and Nina, husband James, brother Bob and favorite dog PJ.
Funeral services will be held Friday, July 31, 2009 at 2 p.m. at Lindquist''s Layton Mortuary, 1867 No. Fairfield Road. Friends and family may call Friday from 12:45 to 1:45 p.m. at the mortuary.
Interment, Centerville City Cemetery, 500 E. 400 So., Centerville, Utah.
As Ruth put it, "That''s all Folks!"
