OGDEN a€" Ruth McFarland Lindley Winward, 89, died Thursday, March 12, 2009 at her home in Ogden.

She was born January 13, 1920 in West Weber, a daughter of Abram and Luella Kingston McFarland.

Ruth was sealed to her childhood sweetheart, Esasias Brown Lindley, in the Salt Lake LDS Temple and together they had six children. Cy preceded her in death in June of 1967. After his death, she raised her children by herself. She married Mark L. Winward later in life and they moved to Emmett, Idaho where she grew to love his family and neighbors. Mark died July 27, 2003 and Ruth returned to Ogden.

Ruth was devoted to her belief in God and the importance of family, she was faithful to both. She served two missions and also served in the Ogden and Boise Temples.

Ruth was the world''s greatest Mother. We loved you in this life and will love you forever.

Surviving are her children, Janace Lindahl, Karl Lindley, Jerel Lindley, Dale Lindley and Deloy Lindley, 51 grandchildren and 60 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by both of her husbands and one son, Michael Lindley.

Funeral services will be held Monday at 11 a.m. at Lindquist''s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd.

Friends may call at the mortuary on Monday from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m.

Interment, Lindquist''s Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd.
