Ruth J. Zentner
SOUTH OGDEN – Our beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, mother-in-law, and friend, Ruth Johansen Zentner, passed away peacefully on Monday, August 11, 2008 in Ogden.
She was born December 24, 1919 in Salt Lake City, the daughter of Peter and Theresa Johansen. She attended schools in Salt Lake City and graduated from Murray High School.
Ruth entertained for the USO during World War II and enjoyed singing and dancing throughout her life. She especially enjoyed traveling throughout the country and appreciated all the natural beauties and diversities of the earth.
She was married to David T. Zentner on July 23, 1947 and their marriage was solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple in January of 1950.
Ruth was active in many community activities including the Utah State Association for the Blind, and church callings including a temple ordinance worker.
Surviving are her husband, David of Ogden; four children, Linda Christensen, Gilbert, AZ; Teresa Zentner, Ogden; David T. (Tim) Zentner II, West Los Angeles, CA; and Sallie Kirk, Roy; 7 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.
Also surviving are three brothers and three sisters, Nils, Santa Ana, CA; Victor, Santa Clara, CA; Moroni, Taylorsville, UT; Joan, South Jordan, UT; Esther, Murray, UT; and Gloria, Parker, CO.
She is loved and greatly missed by her family, many friends, and neighbors.
Funeral services will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at the South Ogden 7th Ward Chapel, 720 Nancy Dr.
Friends may call at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd., on Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Saturday at the Ward Chapel 9:45 to 10:45 a.m.
Interment, Salt Lake City Cemetery.
