Ruth Ann Rhees Larsen

April 4, 1932 ~ August 5, 2017

Ruth Ann Rhees Larsen, 85, passed away on August 5, 2017, surrounded by her loving family. The oldest daughter of ten children, Ruth Ann was born on April 4, 1932 to Earl and Ruth Cragun Rhees.

Ruth Ann married the love of her life, Vern Thomas Larsen, on April 7, 1953 in the Salt Lake City LDS Temple. Together they had seven children and helped raise a foster daughter.

Ruth Ann is a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where she served faithfully in many ward and stake callings, in the Young Women, Relief Society, and Primary Organizations. Ruth Ann and Vern also served as ordinance workers in the Ogden LDS Temple. Ruth Ann also worked as a Supervisor over the School Lunch Program for Weber County School District.

Mom is known for her desire to care for and serve others. She loves her family above and beyond all else. Mom loves a party, loves to celebrate each and every moment, and takes every opportunity to remember and bring joy to others. Mom always looked forward to the birth of every grandchild, great-grandchild, and to the union and forming of each new family within her ever growing Eternal Family. “Grandma is a perfect example of love, forgiveness, fun, and a giving heart! She is an example of strength, courage, and faith.”

Ruth Ann is survived by her Eternal Companion, Vern Larsen; and her 7 children, Deanne (Royce) Woolstenhulme, Dale (UnHui) Larsen, Brent (Ronna) Larsen, Sandee (Dan) Mann, Sheri (Don) Petersen, Jan (Paul) Tribe, and David (Becky) Larsen; 43 grandchildren, and 83 great-grandchildren! She is also survived by her siblings, Delbert (Marilyn) Rhees, Marian Findlay, Bob Rhees, Sally (Alf) Shaw, John Rhees, Carol Rhees, and Linda Rhees.

We are assured that Mom was greeted on the other side by many loved ones who have gone on before.
