Ryal Simmons Scoffield

1928 ~ 2021

Ryal Simmons Scoffield, 93, peacefully passed away Sunday, July11, 2021 at his home in Kaysville, Utah.  He was born May 25, 1928 the son of Charles Albert (Chick) Scoffield and Algie Emmeline Simmons.  He was a lifelong resident of Kaysville, but did have a home and properties in Manila, UT and Ajo, AZ.  He ultimately ended up living in his parent’s home in Kaysville.

Ryal was a graduate of Davis High School in 1946.  He served successfully in the US Air Force, serving in Washington State and then overseas three different times.  He also served in the South-East Asia areas as a civilian.  He continued working with aircraft in maintenance and inspection through Hill Air Force Base until his retirement in 1982.  He always enjoyed being around people.

Ryal also loved the farm and ranching, raising cattle, horses, geese, chickens, guinea hens, hay, and grasses for feed.  He was a cowboy for sure.

Ryal married Carma Williams in 1950, and had four children; namely, Michael, Ryanne, Mary Ann, and Mark.  They later divorced.

Ryal was a great fan of fishing and hunting, keeping a boat for fishing wherever he lived.  He also enjoyed horseback riding and traveling where he could.  He had a bit of a roaming spirit.

Ryal is preceded in death by his parents Charles and Algie; his brother, Alan; as well as Carma, and his first-born son, Michael.  Ryal is survived by his other three children: Ryanne (Rick) Davis, Mary Ann (Don) Archuleta, and Mark (Cornelia) Scoffield; as well as grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
