S.D. (Dee) Fielding
Dee Fielding passed away on Saturday, June 18, 2011 surrounded by his family who loved him dearly.
Dee was born on July 13, 1929 in Bear River Utah to Wayne Fielding and Hildred Sorensen. Although they moved frequently, he was primarily raised in Clearfield Utah, the eldest of five children. His siblings are Ray (Shirley), Deceased; Merlin (Linda), Dorothy and Marian (JB) Delaney.
He graduated from Davis High School, attended the University of Utah and served an LDS Mission in the California Mission. Two days after returning from his mission he married his sweetheart Frances May Warner on April 30, 1952 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.
Dee and Fran are the parents of what Dad would call very special spirits. Doug (Bonnie) of Mesa, AZ. Rod (Lisa) of Chandler, AZ. Rick (Denise) of Holladay, UT. Connie of Heber City, UT. Scott (Monica) of Sandy, UT and Shauna (Joe) of Lehi, UT. They are the grandparents of 27 grandchildren and 10 A½ great grandchildren.
Dee and Fran spent some time living in California and now reside in Lehi, but raised their family in Layton, Utah for over 45 years. They later served a mission together in the New York, Rochester Mission.
Most of his career was in the life insurance industry and he loved the associations he made there. Dee served in many capacities in the church and faithfully served wherever asked, although his greatest love was being a life-long missionary to anyone who would listen. He was one of the most faithful Home Teachers there ever was.
