Sachiko Sally Yanagibashi Yamaguchi

August 5, 1937 ~ May 27, 2019

Sachiko Sally Yanagibashi Yamaguchi, 81, peacefully passed away on Monday, May 27, 2019 at South Ogden Post Acute which had been her place of residence for the past three years. She was born on August 5, 1937, in Santa Maria California, the daughter of Masao and Taeko Kambe Yanagibashi.

On April 30, 1942, she was evacuated to the Tulare, California Relocation Center for four months, than relocated to the Gila River, Arizona Internment Camp until October 1945.  Shortly thereafter, Sally came with her family to Ogden, Utah.  Here she would stay to complete her education, graduating from Ben Lomond High School, and Stevens Henager College. She began a career with the federal government, and retired after 33 years of service.

She married Aki Yamaguchi on June 20, 1964. Aki passed away on May 25, 1987. Sally had always remained very close to her siblings, and her nieces and nephews. She loved all of our family gatherings. She was such a fantastic cook, it brought her great joy, and the opportunity to "cook up a storm", and treat all of us to her cooking.

Sally is survived by her mother, Taeko; brother Bob; sisters, Kay (Jimmy) Watanabe and Naomi Yamashita; nieces, Jennifer (Nate) Watanabe-Carter and Pam (Chris) Dreyer; and nephews, Shane Watanabe and Lee (Charleen) Yanagibashi.

She was preceded in death by her brother Don, her husband, and her father.

The family would like to thank her special friends and neighbors at the Sunbrook Condominium Complex in North Ogden. Your friendship and caring kindness always met so much to her. Also to Drs. Casey Stelter, Glen Biddulph, and Jeffrey Call, AFI Advanced Care, Your Home Clinic Company, United Wound Healing, and South Ogden Post Acute for all of the loving, compassionate, and dignified care she had received.

In keeping with Sally's wishes, there will be no services and we respectfully request no Koden.

Sally is remembered as "fun, full of laughter, warm and generous"...... Leanne Yamaguchi Marley
