Sam John Barber, Jr., 71, passed away on Sunday, January 30, 2022. He was born on March 24, 1950 in Orem, Utah, the son of Sam J. Sr. and Florence M. Demman Barber. He moved from Orem at the age of 19.

He married Patricia Golden in 1978 at St. Francis. They later divorced. He married Shari J. Frost in November 1998 in at Washington Heights Church.

Sam worked as an automobile dealer for 40 years; enjoyed being on staff at Washington Heights Church in Ogden, Utah, was a member of the Ogden Exchange Club, and on the Pontiac and Mitsubishi National Dealer Council. He enjoyed fly fishing, cycling, hiking and snowboarding.

Sam is survived by his wife, Shari Barber of Morgan; daughters, Angela Barber of Salt Lake City, Jamie Jeppesen of Ogden, Jessica Osaka of Layton, and son, Adrian Barber of Salt Lake City; four grandchildren; mother, Florence; brothers, Chuck, Fred, and John Barber. He was preceded in death by his father, Sam.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 5, 2022 at 11 a.m. at Washington Heights Church, 1770 East 6200 South. Friends may visit with family on Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Saturday from 9 to 10:30 a.m. at the church. Interment, Milton Cemetery. Services entrusted to Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary.
