SAMUEL LEONARD KEISER

1934-2014

Samuel Leonard Keiser passed away on March 5, 2014 at his home in Bountiful Utah after a valiant three-year battle with pulmonary fibrosis. He was born in Preston, Idaho on February 26, 1934 to Samuel and Asenith Laura Goodsell Keiser.

He served a 2 1/2 year mission in Switzerland/Austria. During the last several months assigned there, he had the privilege of being a tour guide and Ordinance Worker for the then newly-built Swiss Temple.

On August 15, 1958, Sam married his sweetheart, Ethelynn Smith, in the Salt Lake Temple.

After graduating from the University of Utah with a bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Sam worked as a design engineer for Ampex Corporation in California for 20 years. He then moved with his family to Bountiful, Utah, where he was self-employed as a Manufacturer's Representative for 25 years.

An active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Sam served in many capacities over the years, such as: Ward Clerk, Dance Director, Stake Clerk, Ward Financial Clerk, Ward Membership Clerk, and a Bountiful Temple Ordinance Worker for 6 years. He even helped his wife with roadshows, doing sound and special effects.

Some of Sam's interests and hobbies were collecting and watching classic DVDs, listening to operas, watching high class ballets, and working with sound systems.

Sam is survived by his wife, Ethelynn; daughter, Kristin Lynn Meyers (Russell); sons David Troy Keiser and Samuel Steven Keiser (Vanae); 8 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; and brother, Doyle Keiser (Leah). He is preceded in death by his parents and brothers Dorian and Richard Keiser.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, March 12 in the Oak Hills Ward chapel (455 S 1200 E Bountiful, UT). Friends may visit with the family Tuesday evening 6-8:00 pm at Lindquist's Bountiful Mortuary (727 N 400 E) and from 9:30-10:30 am at the church prior to the services.
