SOUTH OGDEN – Samuel Anselmo Sanchez, Jr., 50, died Monday, July 5, 2010 at his home in South Ogden.
He was born October 27, 1959 in Brush, Colorado, a son of Samuel Anselmo Sr. and Jessie Padilla Sanchez.
On June 27, 1987, Samuel married Margarita Sandoval in San Diego, California.
He loved his country and served with pride in the U.S. Navy.
Samuel worked as an administrator for the U.S. Navy retiring in 2001.
Samuel was a great man. He was the best father anyone could ask for. He had a heart of gold and was a very giving man. Samuel loved sports and good food, but more than anything, loved his family. The wisdom he passed on to everyone will be remembered forever.
Surviving are his wife, Maggie Sanchez; one son, Sam Sanchez; brothers, Joe (Sandra) Valerio; Mike Sanchez, Gary Sanchez; and sisters, Julie Williams Ogburn, Nora Puente, and Daphne Sanchez, along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Samuel was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Irene Orosco.
Funeral Mass will be held Saturday, July 10 at 12 Noon at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, 514 – 24th Street.
Family will meet with friends at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd., on Friday from 6 to 7 p.m. where Holy Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m.
Interment, Ogden City Cemetery where Military Honors will be accorded by V.F.W. Post 1481.
