Sandra Stout Butterfield

KAYSVILLE - Beloved wife, mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, and friend, Sandra Stout Butterfield passed away peacefully in her sleep Sunday morning, October 18, 2015, in Bountiful, Utah.

Sandy was born June 6, 1936, in Salt Lake City, Utah, to loving parents Delbert and Goldie Stout. She married Roger Wallace Butterfield on June 24, 1959, in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.

Known for her infectious smile and warm heart, Sandy was a friend to all she met. She showed great compassion to those in need through her selfless service. She was a lifelong member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served faithfully in numerous callings, including the North Davis Special Needs Mutual, which she loved. Her testimony of the Savior was reflected in the way she raised a righteous posterity. Her legacy is profound and far reaching.

For many years she was a member of the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers. She was active in the community and served as executive secretary of the Kaysville Chamber of Commerce, and she independently organized and hosted a number of patriotic Independence Day events entitled “Ring a Bell for Freedom.”

Sandy is survived by her husband Roger, seven children: Bret (Stephanie), Bart (Kalynn), Melanee (Brandt) Fowers, Kimberly, Troy (Lanelle), Stacey (Mike) Spainhower, Mechelle (Monte) Wingle; sixteen grandsons, three granddaughters, two great-grandchildren, her sister (Virginia), and her brother (Sherrell).

She was preceded in death by her parents and a step-granddaughter (Kimi Mietzner).

Funeral services will be held Thursday, October 22, 2015, at 11 a.m. at the Kaysville 15th Ward, 555 North 100 East, Kaysville, UT.  Friends may visit family Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist’s Kaysville Mortuary, 400 North Main and Thursday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the church.

Interment, Kaysville City Cemetery.

The family wishes to express heartfelt gratitude for friends and caregivers who rendered tender care to Sandy.
