Sandra Sheffield Moffet

Sandra “Sandy” Sheffield Moffet passed away on March 30, 2022 at the George E. Wahlen Veterans Home. She was born on July 23, 1941 in Brigham City, UT to Boyd Malmrose Sheffield and Norma Wood.
She married Richard Boyce Carlson in the Logan Temple in 1960. They had two beautiful daughters together, Leisa Jayne and Carolyn. They were later divorced.
She married Daniel Rolyn Moffet on August 17, 2002 in North Ogden, UT. Daniel preceded her in death in March 2018.
Sandra was raised in Brigham City, Utah. She graduated from Box Elder High in 1959. She raised her children in Willard, Utah where she lived for many years and was hostess to many family parties. Sandra enjoyed family, friends, shopping, playing cards, cooking, quilting, sewing, traveling, cruises, and any kind of gathering where there were people. Sandra was a Water Rights Coordinator for the Forest Service for many years, retiring in 2000. She thoroughly enjoyed her monthly luncheons with her friends from the Forest Service. She was known as Mrs. ‘C’ at Walker Cinemas where she worked part time and helped manage the theaters while the Walkers were on a mission.
After her retirement from the Forest Service, she was part owner of North Pointe Theater in North Ogden. She then retired and worked for Handi Trans, this is where she met the love of her life, Dan. They loved to spend time together, traveling, and doing volunteer work with the VFW Post 1481 including volunteering at the George E. Wahlen Veterans Home. She loved to serve others. She was a member of Phi Beta Kappa where she was the chairman for the Brigham City Peach Queen pageant for many years. She also loved to sing and had a beautiful soprano voice. She sang with the Box Elder Symphonic Choir for many years.
Sandra is survived by her children, Leisa Carlson and Carolyn (Jeff) Hollingsworth; four granddaughters and five great-grandchildren; siblings, Bill (Susan) Sheffield, Shauna Walton, Mike (Sue) Sheffield, and Jeanie Peck; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Daniel, and her parents.
The family would like to thank the staff at the George E. Wahlen Veterans Home who provided kind and loving care to Sandra for the past four years.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, April 11, 2022 at 11 a.m. at the 24th Ward Chapel, 650 Anderson Drive, Brigham City. Friends may visit with family on Monday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the church. Interment, Brigham City Cemetery. Services entrusted to Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary.
