Sandra Susan Sauter
Sandra Susan Sauter, 68, of Ogden, died Wednesday, April 18, 2012 at McKay-Dee Hospital.
Sandra was born in Oakland, California on July 28, 1943. Her parents were Matthew Jerry and Helen Laverne (Smith) Sauter. Sandra was adopted and raised in the Los Angeles area. Her adoptive parents were Robert and Pearl (Whitney) Cheeseman.
Sandra graduated from University High School, married George Stanley and was later divorced, and worked much of her life as a skilled caretaker and homemaker for her clients.
She was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and shared the gospel with everyone who she crossed paths with. She truly had a missionary spirit about her continually. She enjoyed visiting the family history library to do geneological research. She will be remembered as a pioneer in a geneological sense because she is the one who began her biological family''s temple work.
Sandra stayed very close to her maternal grandmother, Dorothy Vida Hicks, who was the only biological family that she was able to introduce to her children.
Sandra remained close to her adoptive family, but one of her greatest joys was being sealed in the Holy Temple to her biological family. Because of the family history work which she loved and was able to do, and the power of the priesthood and the blessings of the temple which were very real to her, Sandra left this life rejoicing. Although she will be deeply missed by those she leaves behind, they are rejoicing for her, too, because they feel that she is ''happy, whole, healed, and connected...''
She is survived by her son, Bryan Stanley, daughters, Pearline Lucas and Brenda Hansen, nine grandchildren, brother, Robert Stowell Cheeseman, and sister, Anna Isabel Hadley.
Cremation was entrusted to Lindquist''s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd., Ogden.
