Santiago Villalva
OGDEN – Santiago Villalva, 67, died peacefully Saturday, November 7, 2009 at his home in Ogden.
He was born October 24, 1942 in Durango, Mexico, a son of Manuel and Tomasita Avalos Villalva.
On January 21, 1983, Santiago married Maria Patrocinio in Jerez, Zacatecas, Mexico.
He loved to work in his yard and get it as green as possible. He would always make sure that everyone who came into his house had something to drink, chile and chicharrones, and always felt welcome. He always tried to teach people how to speak Spanish because everyone had to know how to respond to “Hola, Como Estas?” He always made sure that the answer to “Tata, Tienes Algo Para Mi?”was yes. My Dad loved us so much and we will always love him. He was funny, kind and always willing to help others whether they were family or not – he tried to make them feel like family.
Surviving are his wife, Maria Villalva, son, Arturo (Juana) Villalva, daughters, Leticia Villalva, Marlene (Angel) Coria, Alicia (Francisco) Villalva, Angelica Villalva, and six grandchildren.
He is also survived by two brothers, Santos and Macario, and one sister, Agripina.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife Alicia Rodriguez-Villalva, the mother of his four oldest children.
