Sarah Alice Sevy Jackson
Sarah Alice Sevy Jackson, 86, passed peacefully away Friday, November 27, 2009 at Rocky Mtn. Care Center in Clearfield surrounded by her family.
She was born January 17, 1923 in Ogden, Utah the daughter of Johnathan and Sarah Munson Sevy. Her mom died when she was one month old. She was raised by her grandparents Myron and Lydia Sevy.
Alice married Joseph Arland Jackson on October 31, 1940. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Ogden LDS Temple. He preceded her in death on September 10, 1994.
She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many callings including temple worker. Alice was also member of the Daughter of the Utah Pioneers.
She liked to knit, crochet, read poetry, swim and walking at the mall. She especially loved spending time with her husband, family and friends at their cabin at Panguitch Lake. She was an elegant lady who always expressed gratitude for every act of kindness that came her way.
Surviving are her two sons, Joe (Evelyn) Jackson, Bob (DeLaine) Jackson, daughter, Jamie (Kevin) Smedley, brother, Joy Sevy, sister-in-law, Gloria Crofts, 16 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, December 1, 2009 at 11 a.m. at Lindquist''s Layton Mortuary, 1867 No. Fairfield Road. Friends and family may call Monday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Tuesday from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. at the mortuary.
Interment, Lindquist''s Memorial Park at Layton, 1867 No. Fairfield Road.
