Sarah Iwilda, known as Billie to those who knew her, age 93, died Wednesday, March 13, 2013 in West Point, Utah. She was born July 11, 1919 in Varnville, South Carolina to John Bernard and Carrie Louise Woods Popham.

Billie grew up and attended school in Jesup, Georgia. The family then moved to Charleston, South Carolina while her father helped build Navy War Ships during World War II.

Billie was a faithful member of the LDS Church having been baptized at eight years of age. She held many church positions during her life.

In 1941 Billie was called and served a mission in the South States Mission which at that time consisted of Georgia, Florida, South Carolina, Louisiana and Mississippi. Billie served in Georgia and Florida.

Surviving family members include one sister and one brother: Rita Anderson of Centerville, Utah; and James Popham of Clinton, Utah; 12 nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be held Friday, March 15, 2013 at 2:30 p.m. at Alysian Burial Gardens Cemetery, 1075 E. 4580 So., Murray, Utah. Friends may visit family Friday from 12 to 1:00 p.m. at Lindquist''s Layton Mortuary, 1867 No. Fairfield Road.
