Savannah Mikiko Fujimoto

Savannah Mikiko Fujimoto returned to the loving arms of her Heavenly Father November 6, 2014.  She was born September 6, 1996 in Ogden, Utah and is the daughter of Chris and Julianne Huff and Derick and Amy Fujimoto.

Savannah attended elementary and junior high schools in the Ogden area followed by two years of high school in Fresno, California; she was currently enrolled as a senior at Ogden High.  She loved learning and was doing well in her new classes.  She especially loved being on the debate team and had just completed a CNA course which was a prerequisite for future nursing classes. Becoming a nurse has been a life-time dream for Savannah.  She would have been excellent because of the love and compassion she has for others.  Known for her kind heart and consideration of everyone’s feelings, Savannah had a way of making others feel good and comfortable when they were around her.

Like sunshine, Savannah could light up a room with her smile.  She was positive, good, smart, joyful, sensitive, fun, adventurous, had a great sense of humor, and a gift for learning music.  She was a natural at the piano and would often play just for her own enjoyment.  Savannah loved to be outdoors hiking, biking, and playing at the beach when possible.  She was a good friend and was blessed with many in return.

Savannah dearly loved her family.  She adored her little sisters and happily embraced the role of “big sister” to her three fun and funny brothers, whom she loved.  Her tender and caring way with little children made her welcomed and desired in their lives. Anytime she arrived at a home, her own or others, the little children would announce her presence; “Savannah’s here, Savannah’s here!”

Savannah was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and truly had the light of Christ in her countenance.  You could see it in her eyes.  Everyone wanted to be with her.

Savannah is preceded in death by her grandfathers, Toshi Fujimoto and Lynn Wade.

She is survived by her parents; five sisters, Mikayla, Lanaiya, Kiana, Aeva, and Leilani; three brothers, Jacob, Andrew, Riley and a beloved sidekick, Holden Odell; grandmothers, Muriel Fujimoto and Marianne Mower; along with many adoring aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Savannah will be known forever by the endearing nicknames: Nanners, Nans, and Savvy Sue.  To our darling Nanners, Nans, and Savvy Sue, “We love you, sweet girl. Our hearts are aching and we miss you. We will rejoice in the day we get to be with you again. Keep playing the piano, making friends and teaching others about the Savior.  You are a heavenly beacon and we love you with all of our hearts.”

Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, November 12, 2014, at 11 a.m. at the Kanesville LDS Stake Center, 4555 W. 4000 S., West Haven, UT. Friends may visit with family on Tuesday, November 11, 2014, from 6 to 8 p.m.at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd. Ogden, UT. and on Wednesday from 9:30-10:30 a.m. at the stake center prior to the services.

Interment at Lindquist’s Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Savannah’s name at America First Credit Union to be used for a nursing scholarship.
