Scott E. Crase
UINTAH HIGHLANDS - Scott Edward Crase, 63, passed away peacefully Tuesday, May 11, 2010 at his daughter''s home.
He was born March 19, 1947 in Ogden, the son of Clarence Jr. Crase and Mildred (Mickey) Fox. Scott graduated from Weber High School in 1965. He also attended Weber State College. He served in the U.S. Army 6th Infantry 3rd Battalion, including a tour of duty in Vietnam. He was employed by Union Pacific Railroad as a Conductor, retiring in 2007 after 42 years of dedicated service. Throughout his career he developed and maintained numerous lifelong friendships. One of his greatest past-times was having coffee with his buddies every week. On November 19, 1970 he married his lifelong partner and best friend, Karen Crase. Karen preceded him in death on January 19, 2010. With his wife by his side, they enjoyed taking care of their yard, traveling, golfing, camping at Round Valley, going to their condo in Mesquite, Nevada and spending time on their houseboat at Lake Powell with their children and grandchildren. He loved spending time with his wife and his family. Daddy was as sweet as the treats he liked to eat. Now that you''re together again with Mom, we know your broken heart has been healed. Surviving are his children, Sabra (George) Benford, Perry; Monica (Greg) Satterlee, Washington Terrace; Bryan (Colette) Crase, West Haven; and grandchildren Justin, Courtney, Aspyn, Makalya, Daxton and great grandchild Aiden; mother Mickey (Glen) Fox, Roy; stepmother, Norma Crase, Orem; sister Karen (Bill) Luck, North Ogden; brother-in-law, A. Leon Gudmundson; sister-in-law, Marie Mckee; sister-in-law, Judy Krull; mother-in-law Helen Gudmundson; and many nieces and nephews whom he loved dearly. Scott was preceded in death by his loving wife Karen Crase, father Clarence Jr. Crase, father-in-law Dr. Arthur Daniel Gudmundson, nephew David Glen Gudmundson, sister-in-law Georgeann F. Gudmundson, brother-in-law A. Dean Mckee, and brother-in-law Larry G Krull.
The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to all the doctors, nurses, and medical staff for all the hard work, care, and compassion provided to our dad. Funeral services will be held Monday May 17, 2010 at 11 a.m. at Lindquist''s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd. Family will visit with friends at the mortuary on Sunday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Monday 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. Interment will take place at Lindquist''s Memorial Gardens of the Wasatch, 1718 Combe Road, South Ogden. Dad, we are so proud of your determination to fight and to live, but we know that now Mom is again by your side and taking great care of you. You''ll be forever missed and loved Daddy. . . .
